A runway safety area extension and obstruction removal project requiring excavation and fill of approximately 1,850,000 cubic yards of rock and soil. The project was conducted near and around the primary active runway and required close coordination and compliance with air traffic control, security, and FAA regulations. It involved excavation and a large engineered fill, drilling and blasting, removal and installation of water lines, erosion control, construction of drainage ditches and ponds, roadway removal and construction, and security fencing.

Plymouth Grain Tracks
Construction of a new rail loop to the Agri-Northwest grain storage facility near Plymouth, WA. The project required clearing, grubbing, excavation, embankment, drainage, pipe, and ballast rock placement. The installation of a multi-plate, corrugated steel structure was necessary for rail cars to pass through under the facility's access road.

Eighty-acre shopping center site development requiring 2,200,000 cubic yards of rock excavation. Due to the urban setting, number of contractors on site, blasting, and close proximity to a nursing home and other business strict attention to safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively with a number of governmental agencies was required. The project included erosion control, highly controlled blasting, excavation, fill, drainage, and access road construction. M.A. DeAtley Construction moved an average of 40,000 cubic yards a day on an eighteen hour day schedule.
 
Ritzville Grain Tracks, Ritzville, Washington

Site access construction for a new rail spur to the Ritzville grain storage facility. The project required clearing and grubbing, erosion control, excavation, installation of drainage pipe, transportation and placement of ballast rock, fill, and compaction. Work in the main rail line access area required close coordination with the railroad.

 
FMO/AES/PD Complex
Completion Date:   2000 
 
Clearing, grubbing, building demolition, asphalt removal, excavation, trenching and backfilling, erosion control, utilities including waterlines, sanitary and storm sewage systems, manholes, catch basins, fire protection hydrants, foundations, concrete pads, parking lots, and seed bed preparation. Work was coordinated to allow commencement of building construction prior to completion of all site work.
 
Nez Perce Plaza, Lewiston, Idaho
   
 
A shopping center site development project requiring approximately 2,200,000 cubic yards of rock excavation and fill, highway and roadway access entrances and exits, storm water runoff and drainage systems, sedimentation and erosion control during construction. The site was also in an urban setting and required blasting in close proximity to homes and other businesses. The project again required close coordination and ability to work effectively with numerous governmental agencies.
