| U.S. 95 Slide Repair North of Riggins, Idaho | |||||
| Contracting Agency: Idaho Transportation Department | |||||
|
|||||
The
primary purpose of the work was to mitigate an active slide area by restoring
the slide mass located at milepost 210.5 on U.S. Highway 95, to a more
structurally capable slope. Work involved major earthwork (excavation
of over 220 thousand cubic yards of material), material wasting activities
and the placement of base rock and a plantmix overlay. Work also involved
the placement of new culverts, guardrail and rock fall protection fence.
This project was particularly challenging to our operators since the cut
extended 600+ feet above the existing road. |
