Heavy Highway Construction Co is seeking a Safety Coordinator/Manger to support projects that are located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana and potentially other Western states. The Safety Coordinator/Manager works closely with project managers and supervisors to ensure compliance and provide support on all safety matters.
Manager will ultimately be responsible for assisting M.A. DeAtley in becoming the leader in safety in our industry.
Manager is responsible for supervising, developing and coordinating a comprehensive safety, health and accident preven-tion program.
Work involves conducting safety inspections, incident/accident/near miss investigations.
Will work in coordination with Human Resources for employee safety training programs.
Work also includes ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines. Develop programs and policy to comply with regulatory agency safety and health requirements.
Work involves leading safety meetings and providing consultation to the safety committee and to managers in identifying and resolving health and safety problems.
Receives and responds to employee complaints, questions, and concerns relative to occupational health and safety mat-ters. Take appropriate administrative and/or emergency actions when necessary and/or refer for resolution.
Prepare necessary reports and communications to managers, employees, safety committees, etc. to provide information on safety and health issues.
The employee must exercise judgment and discretion in meeting established objectives.
Position will require a valid driver license. Some travel will be required and paid for by company.
