PIPE LABORER TRAINING PROGRAM

 

The trainee will be recieving guidance in the following categories:

Online Training                                     3 hours

Safety Training                                     20 hours

Record Keeping                                    25 hours

Pipe Layout and Staging                      50 hours

Trench Preparation/Excavation        152 hours

Install Pipe                                              125 hours

Backfill Pipe                                             125 hours

Miscellaneous duties as nec.

The trainee will be required to complete the new hire paperwork, the orientation process, the online safety training and successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.  The trainee will also follow all procedures and standards set forth by M.A. DeAtley Construction in regards to operation and safety as provided in the M.A. DeAtley Accident and Safety Plan.  The trainee may also be operating mechanized equipment such as pickup trucks, loaders, rollers and backhoes.

Pay Scale:  Prevailing Wage for Laborer $22.67 + $8.05 Fringe Benefit

60% of pay through completion of 250 hours                             $13.60 + $4.83

75% of pay through completion of 251-375 hours                      $17.00 + $6.04

90% of pay through completion of 376- completion                  $20.40 + $7.25

It is acknowledged that the training and upgrading of minorities and women towards journeyman status is a primary objective of the contract training special provisions.
